Hokio Beach Ride Sunday 15 October CANCELLED

Regretfully, we are unable to proceed with the Hokio Beach ride this year.

This is largely due to the wet and flooded conditions and the lack of a suitable alternative area for the ride base.

The event has been withdrawn from our Calendar and the Online Pre-Entries form.

Waikawa Beach Sunday 1 October

Hi Everyone

The ride poster has been published (see the Calendar) and online pre-entries are open.
Points to note for this ride:

Due to the tide the first riders will go out at 9.30am (so the ride is one hour later than usual)

Vetting will start at 8.15am.

An important reminder about ride entry rules and protocols:

As per the ride poster All Open and Long Intermediate riders must be pre-entered – close off is 9.00pm Wednesday 27 September.

All other on-line pre entries close at 5.00pm on Friday 29 September.

Entries on the day (for this ride note change of time due to later start) 8.30am and will close at 10.30am (no entries will be taken after 10.30am)

Ride times will be allocated by Kath on receipt of entries – we will not accept requests for late ride out times so please don't ask for them

Note that all Open and Long Intermediate entries will be allocated ride out times in the first half hour – for Waikawa – that will be 9.30am- 10.00am.

Online Membership and Horse registration now open

Hi Everyone

It’s time for memberships again and this year we are doing it on-line.

The links are below (and of course you will find them on our WATRC website if your link from this email fails – just Google WATRC)

If you sign up before 1 September you will go in the draw for a free ride at any event you choose this season.  We will draw the winner at the first ride on 1 October at Waikawa Beach (committee members excluded)

Important Information:

  • Please be sure to fill out your on-line Membership in full (the on-line system will unlikely let you complete the form unless you do)
  • You can also complete your horse information online. You can provide information for as many horses as you want, but each horse must be submitted separately. You can also provide horse information at any time during the season, although we recommend you provide it before that horse's first ride of the season.
  • The horse information that you provide must be exactly mirrored on your ride entry at each ride and we will be insisting that ride entries are filled out accurately on each ride day so that records are clear and consistent.
  • Horse information is used to collate points tallies at the end of each season – so you need to be consistent with the horse name that you use (if it doesn’t cross match with the database– you won’t get the points)
  • Your membership is valid only when your membership fee appears in the bank account

Remember the ride season begins on Sunday 1 October at Waikawa Beach

Updates and ride flyers will be posted on the website and mailed out to all members who join the mailing group

AGM minutes, President's report and Treasurer's finacial summary available

Following a successful AGM and Prizegiving dinner, the above mentioned documents are now available on our Resources page.

Our congratulations to all prize winners and especially to our newest life members, Aimee, Junior and Kim.

As ever, WATRC is grateful to the many people who give their time ensure the success of our club. Thank you all, and we hope to see you again in the 2017-18 season,

AGM and Prize-giving details. Draft ride calendar

Our AGM and Prize-giving Dinner will be held on Sunday 2 July 2017 at the Waikanae Chartered Club, 8 Elizabeth Street, Waikanae. Please arrive from 4:00 pm to be seated with your refreshments for a 4:30 pm AGM start.

Dinner will be served from 6:00 pm. Dinner must be purchased and paid  for in advance, preferably by Internet Banking with your full name and number attending in the transaction details. Please see the AGM notice for details.

Closing date for receipt of remits for consideration at AGM is 8 June. Please use the remit form and follow the instructions to ensure your proposed change is clear.

Our draft ride calendar has been released. At this point we will attempt to stick firm on the dates as these are agreed in consultation with other clubs. The venues may be subject to change, but we'll get those locked in as soon as we're able.

Bright's Farm poster published. Champs entries opened

Ride posters for Bright's Farm and Champs at Waitarere Rise are both now linked from our Calendar page and have been distributed to our email list.

For Bright's, use the online pre-entries form as usual.

For Champs entries you can either download and print the PDF form, or you can use the online Champs entry form.

Entries for Championship classes should be received by 26 March, please. The entry fee is $35. Late entries will be accepted up to 9 pm 29 March but attract a $5 late fee.

Entries for the two Non-championship classes (Intro and a Novice non-champs, also $35) don't have an entry deadline and can enter on the day without a late fee, but we encourage you to submit your entry earlier if you can using the same form.
